DCDC Family Pandemic Policy: Updated October 28

The policies have been put in place to address the current COVID-19 Pandemic, however they may be used and adapted
for any future pandemics or public health threats. The policies and procedures may change as relevant to COVID-19 as
circumstances and CDC guidance are updated. DCDC employees and families will be notified with relevant updates.
The COVID-19 virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person:
• Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet) for a period of time greater than
15 minutes.
• Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes or talks.
• These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.
• Some recent studies have suggested that COVID-19 may be spread by people who are not showing symptoms.
Knowing these facts, DCDC has implemented many new safety measures for families, children and teachers to follow so
that we are an important part of reducing the spread and keeping everyone as healthy as possible. In cases where local
health department guidance is not fully aligned with OCDEL guidance, DCDC will strive to adhere to the most stringent
DCDC Employees and Families will be asked to sign a Waiver, COVID-19 PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY
DCDC may have to limit hours of operation to adequately staff for the anticipated number of children needing care, as
well as to best follow CDC recommendations for social distancing and child care groupings. This policy will be
implemented and remain in effect per guidance from the Commonwealth of PA, Montour County or the Departments of
Human Services and/or Health
