Make a Tax-Wise Gift from Your IRA *

If you’re 70 ½ or older, you can use your IRA to make a powerful gift to DCDC – and enjoy significant tax benefits in return.

Through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), you can transfer up to $100,000 per year directly from your IRA to a qualified charity like DCDC. This counts toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) if you’re age 73 and older – but does not count as taxable income.

That means:

  • You can reduce your adjusted gross income

  • You may avoid pushing yourself into a higher tax bracket

  • You do not need to itemize deductions to benefit

A QCD is a simple, direct way to support the causes you care about – and make your retirement giving go further. (ex: A donor with a $10,000 RMD can transfer that amount directly to DCDC. The full amount supports our mission, and the donor avoids paying income tax on that $10,000).
